与謝野町にある、読書、音楽好き夫婦の家。本に囲まれた生活ができるよう、家の中心に吹き抜けのある階段図書室を計画した。吹き抜け空間はいつでも家族の気配を感じることができ、各個室の引戸を開けることで空間をつなげられるようにしている。外壁には日本海からの厳しい海風にも耐えられる材料を考え、近隣の舟屋建築で使用されている焼杉を用いた。

House in Yosano for a music & reading-loving couple.A staircase bookshelf in the center of the house was planned for a book surrounded lifestyle.This open space allows to be in constant connection with this family’s spirit, being able to connect with it by opening the sliding doors from every room.In order to withstand the strong winds from the sea of Japan, a resistant material was searched for, so burned cedar from a neighbouring shipyard building(funaya houses) was selected for its exterior walls.
