この２年間ほどオランダ建築を巡っていたせいか、レンガへの強い関心があります。
実は昨年末から、スタッフ、橘大学のゼミOBと一緒に土間を施工してました。
ルイス・カーンの話をしながらのレンガ施工は心地よい時間でした。
レンガの自然な色ムラ、片手で持てる重さやスケール等、
素材の身体的な感覚が興味をそそるのかもしれません。
レンガひとつひとつの個性、集まった時の迫力、どちらもいい！
[Brick construction]
Maybe it's because I've been touring Dutch architecture for the past two years, but I have a strong interest in bricks.
In fact, since the end of last year, I've been constructing the earthen floor with staff and alumni from my seminar at Tachibana University. It was a pleasant time constructing the bricks while talking about Louis. I. Kahn.
Perhaps it's the physical sensation of the material, such as the natural unevenness of the bricks' color, their weight and scale that you can hold in one hand, that piques my interest. The individuality of each brick and the impact they have when they're all together are both great!
